Community boards/CCC/ECan elections 2007 Sustainability Survey

Sustainable Otautahi Christchurch in collaboration with Living Streets Christchurch and cycling advocacy group Spokes Canterbury has been running an online questionnaire of local body candidates to try to gauge their views on key sustainability issues affecting Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. The SOC committee hopes that you will find this information very useful as you weigh up candidates in the regional, city, and community board elections. We look forward to working with successful candidates to honour the comments and commitments they have made in this survey.

You can look up candidates' views, priorities and intentions across a range of issues for Christchurch and Canterbury, such as climate change, water and the Central Plains Water Scheme, the City Mall, housing, cycling and public transport. You can also see a summary of all responses and browse through all individual responses here.

Over 100 candidates responded to the survey by Sunday 16th September. However, in the interests of a number of people who missed the deadline for a variety of reasons but who have contacted us with a keen wish still to participate, we have decided to now allow late responses, but we will list them as "late response" to respect those who answered within the original timeframe given.
